Building Homes in Guatemala

Becky and Michael Pond in Guatemala with the family they helped to build a home for. Six kids and a mother live in this 10 x 18 new home with no running water or electricity. This home was a drastic improvement over the corn hull and tarp home they lived in before. Becky and Michael went on the mission trip with their church.

Knights of Heroes Golf Tournament

Trina Nevrla in the Colorado branch helped with a golf tournament benefiting the Knights of Heroes. This is a charity that helps boys from ages 8 - 16. They provide a week long camp experience for boys that have lost their fathers in war casualty. The camp is designed to give the boys a chance to build friendships and provides mentoring relationships.

Serving at the Denver Ronald McDonald House

The Denver branch cooked and served dinner to the families at the Ronald McDonald House. The families are staying at the house while their children are in the hospital. It is comforting for them to have a kind place to stay and a home cooked meal during a very stressful time in their life.

Thank you:

Mona Chavez, Dana Dziagwa, Cindy Hately, Cheryl Harrison, Stacey Kyrimis, Debby Larsen, Tracey McVicker, Kassi Raymond, Jasmine Schell, Sharon Shunk, Trina Turner and Dave Williams

Be involved in your community!

We have several opportunities for your branch, your department, or you, as an individual, to become involved in your community!
Our goal is to be involved in each of our communities and to provide a variety of ways to serve the communities.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure:

Colorado Springs, CO -September 7th
Denver, CO -October 5th
Charlotte NC -October 4th
Houston TX - October 4th

If you would like to participate in any of the above runs please email me. I will also need your shirt size for a "team t-shirt".

Big Brothers/Big Sisters: All areas

School Based program -
Become a big brother or a big sister to a child that needs an extra caring adult in their life. It is a one year commitment to have lunch with a child at their school each month. Please call me for more information.

Dallas Life Foundation: Dallas area

Dallas Life is a homeless shelter. The commitment is for 3 hours serving food to people staying in the shelter and for some who have no home/shelter but need a meal. (dates to follow once I know the interest)

Ronald McDonald House: All areas

Prepare and serve food to families staying in the house while their child is in the hospital. This can be a 2 group commitment -several people preparing casseroles or desserts ahead of time and then another group taking the food to the house and serving it - usually a 3 hour commitment. (dates to follow once I know how many interested)

If you have an organization in your community that you would like the foundation to be involved, please call me or email information to me and I will be happy to follow up and see how to become involved.
Thank you!
Patricia

"Race for the Cure"

On Saturday, June 7th, numerous employees met early for the Susan G Komen, Race for the Cure. The event was in Plano, Texas. It was a very hot morning but what a great feeling to know you are helping to raise money for research to find cures for Breast Cancer. Everyone had a great time together.
